Kapitola 30 z populárně naučné publikace Lyonse a Kindlerové rekapituluje předpovědi o stavu v roce 2000, učiněné vzorkem Evropanů v r. 1967, porovnává je s realitou a vysvětluje, proč se lidé ve většině předpovědí mýlili. Lépe umění předpovědi zvládali jednotlivci s osobnostními charakteristikami myšlenková otevřenost a kritičnost, zatímco vliv vzdělání se neprokázal.
